in the last 90 days i've spent over 600,000,on tick tock ads with our clients and,every day we're migrating more and more,budget over from facebook to tick tock,and in today's video i'm going to be,covering the top five ways you can learn,from the lessons that i have after,spending six hundred thousand dollars on,tick tock ads,hello everyone my name is chase chapel,your favorite digital marketer here,let's get into this video so these are,the lessons from spending 600 000,dollars in tick tock ads and i would,have been far better off if i had,already learned these lessons in advance,or had somebody to really guide me,through the process of understanding,what it is that make tick tock ads,convert how to structure the audiences,and all of the learnings that we've had,from other platforms to be able to be,successful on tick tock ads and that's,exactly what i'm going to be doing today,is i'm going to be walking you through,the top five things that are going to,allow you to be successful with tick,tock ads from the things that we've done,after spending 600 000 on tick tock ads,so let's go ahead and jump into the,first thing and start covering some of,the things you can do to actually,increase your overall conversions and as,you can see here we spent a little over,six hundred thousand dollars on testing,this far just in the last 90 days that's,about 148 million impressions from that,amount of spending about 2 million,clicks overall and so let's go ahead and,go over the tick tock adds creative best,practices so number one is videos with a,duration of 21 seconds to 34 seconds,have a 280 percent lift and conversion,yes you heard that right 21 seconds to,34 seconds if you literally just have,tick tock ads that are at least 21 to 34,seconds long,you automatically have a competitive,advantage over other tick tock,advertisers and the reason for this lift,and conversions is because that's enough,time for you to deliver information in a,concise way to the actual consumer that,might be purchasing your product or the,business that might actually be you know,choosing to work with your service and,you want to time it between 21 to 34,seconds you don't want it to be overly,long you don't want it to be overly,short,so definitely try to be within this,range because you are going to see much,better conversions by doing so and this,is data that ticktalk actually has from,you know hundreds of thousands of,advertisers that are actually already on,the platform and we're seeing this with,our results too videos that are between,21 to 34 seconds do actually convert,better,and we also see that the 9 16 aspect,ratio does help with lifting conversions,that is vertical video y'all you'll want,to make sure you have vertical video you,don't want to try to apply square video,and have these black spaces in between,the actual video you want to make sure,that these videos are actually vertical,tick tock is a vertical placement so you,want to make sure your content actually,fits for tick tock so make sure you have,a 9x16 aspect ratio in your actual,videos that is simply filming on your,phone that's the best way to do it to,actually keep the vertical video in,check and that resolution is actually,going to be higher and that actually,leads us to the next point if your video,is actually above 720p you're going to,see a 312 lifting conversion so if you,just apply these three things you're,going to see you know 280 lift and 91,left and even up to a 312 percent lift,in conversions by having hd video if you,upload a very low quality video the back,door is this you're likely going to get,much less conversions than other,accounts would and if you have ads that,are actually converting now with a low,quality video well if you just upgrade,the quality you could be seeing much,better conversions at the exact same,cost the next thing is number two and,that's tick tock user generated content,this is very big because you have,branded ads and you have spark ads,branded ads are essentially what you see,here this is an ad by go clove and you,know their shoe brand and they have,these actual you know branded outline,where it has the colors of their blue,they're green and the actual ad and it's,very branded and when you come across it,looks very much so like an ad these,types of ads do work to some degree and,you know do have good conversion rates,depending on you know how they're,actually flexing their brand and,actually driving you know consideration,and actually having people make the,conversion based off of what's actually,in the actual ad and you can see has 57,likes you know people are commenting,that they are interested in the product,which is a good thing but overall we're,seeing much better results content is gonna be,demonetised because it's not friendly,enough for ads you know it might be,dangerous it might have some hate in it,it might just be you know unfriendly,towards the advertisers but much,newer so during my time on tick tock,I've come across some ads that are just,plain scams and also some ads for,products that are just plain dangerous,so today we will be going over those so,the first ad that we're gonna look at is,a scam it's not really dangerous unless,you're a wallet because then it's,dangerous because you're wasting mine,anyway let's just take a look,so I swap out the music for this because,it's playing alan Walker's faded which,is emotional it's supposed to get you,into the emotional tone for this video,it's like you know think about the stars,and be all emotional and how beautiful,it is you know it's all part of the scam,to kind of like turn you in to want to,buy this product,so basically you get the gist of it it's,for one of those light projector things,that supposed to put like a starry you,know spectrum are what I don't know the,word for it basically it makes your,darkroom pretty and looking like the,solar system and I mean that's pretty,cool I mean who wouldn't want that,the only problem is if we take a look at,the comments which I'm about to do we,notice that it's a scan,imagine expecting this to be as cool as,advertised was seriously about to buy,this glad I read the comments first,thanks guys you would think that an,advertiser who's clearly making a scam,would turn off their comments but,clearly they're dumb enough to not do so,or maybe tik-tok actually has some,policies meant to protect consumers but,you never know because this is probably,just some drop shipped crap you know all,those people are like they're just drop,shipping some crap from China and you,know tick doctors news they haven't been,running ads forever they haven't dealt,with all the scams right so their,marketing department probably isn't like,you know what we should screen these ads,that are coming in because they might,not be trustworthy yeah you know and,like if you want to run any ads on,tick-tock the minimum amount you have to,spend is $500 right so tick-tock is more,about making that numb that money than,they are about protecting their,consumers which sucks,I mean chick talk fix your stuff you,have so many impressionable stupid kids,are no smart adults and funny comedians,on there obviously I'm not in danger of,falling for these scams but the kids are,but yeah tick tock really needs to take,a look into how it verifies its ads that,it's putting on its platform because,it's a bad look let's take a look at,some more comments I bought it extremely,disappointed the only thing that stopped,me to watch this was listened to was to,listen to Albuquerque's kids don't know,how to speak English this is drug do not,buy I bought two of them,just a box of plastic do not so glad I,read the comments first I was getting,ready to buy thanks to the comments I,will not buy it,misrepresentation now that one that one,could just be a really formal person,hello this or robot we will never know,the first couple videos are showing the,ds1 planetarium projector it's $600 but,the home star from Amazon is a decent,one for 170 now this guy is a hero he's,going in and saying you know what this,product is crap but you can get,something that isn't crap on Amazon I,don't want to hear a man what a hero the,one they're using for the video isn't,the one in the product I noticed when I,saw what it looked dude I just can't,read these comments when they're not,speaking proper ink I'm sorry but like,it's difficult man but yeah there were,more comments but I think it's about,time to move to the next topic but,before we do I just want to say it again,dropshippers stop selling crap and,making false ads that are clear you're,clearly as that commenter said miss for,a presentation you're misrepresenting,the products you're actually selling and,I of january 2021 tick tock raked in 128 million in ,user spending marking an increase of 380 from its
january 2020 revenue so it's growing year on year ,almost 4x in user revenue now take top ranks
as the second biggest app in consumer spend ,above youtube disney plus and netflix this
is probably the uh the biggest stat on this ,screen ranking above youtube and netflix in
consumer spend is absolutely ridiculous so ,it's a monumental opportunity for people and
businesses to sell their products on the platform ,how many times have you spoken to someone they've
said ah i found that product on tick tock it's ,happening a lot these days so let's jump on to how
you can actually make the most of that so this is ,the tick tock ad structure so at the top we have
tick tocks ad manager then we have ad campaigns ,we have ad groups we have ad creative and then
landing pages to break these down one by one tick ,doc ads manager is where you manage your ticktock
advertising account similar to the facebook ,ad manager now a ad campaign is the foundation
of your ad so we're setting up our advertising ,objectives and formats we then have ad group which
is target audiences ad placements budget and the ,bidding then we have the ad creative which is
the text and the video that will appear on our ,apps what we're physically seeing then finally our
landing page and this is the destination url that ,we are driving our potential customers too this
is the place where they will actually buy our ,products or service so when you actually have your
tick tock ad account up and running this is kind ,of what the format will look like we have our ad
manager at the top we have campaigns beneath that ,then inside an ad campaign we would have multiple
ad groups so we'll be testing out multiple ,audiences and inside those audiences we may even
be testing out multiple different ad creatives ,as well so what are the actual creative the the
creative formats that we can use on tick tock well ,we have top view on the left hand side here which
is like a full-size video which shows up when we ,launch the app we don't have brand tank takeover

hello my friends and welcome back to,another video,so i ordered from the first five ads,that i saw,on tick tock now i've done these kind of,videos before where i buy from ads but,it's always been,from like facebook and instagram and,tick tock ads,tick tock ads are weirder at least at,least for me and what the algorithm,shows me,definitely more random like they're kind,of all over the place we have a little,bit of everything as you'll see,in this video like i'll get an ad for a,cute sweatshirt and then the next ad,is for your very own pet ball of moss,complete with,birth certificate i mean both are right,up my alley honestly maybe,tick tock just knows me a little too,well but uh let's get into it so the,first,ad that i saw and i've actually seen,these on tik tok,quite a few times before this video is,for jackpot candles and they,sell candles that have a ring hidden,inside the wax somewhere,that's supposedly worth between fifteen,dollars and,five thousand dollars and i feel like,this is a fun idea you know get a candle,and also get like a fun little,jewelry surprise in it but one thing one,thing that just stood out to me in this,ad as like,a little weird is the guy in the ad was,really,pushing the make money by getting an,expensive,ring aspect my fiance and i love tik tok,and so for my 26th birthday he got me a,mermaid daydream,jackpot candle mermaids are her favorite,and i thought it'd be cool,to try and see if we could win a lot of,money absolutely beautiful we absolutely,love this ring but more importantly it,was worth 20,and we're selling it that seems a little,weird to me like don't don't try to,trick people into thinking buying this,candle is some sort of,investment you're probably not gonna win,a bunch of money,and you should not buy this candle with,that idea,but it's a fun and unique idea on its,own like i'm already interested anyways,and also in the ad the guy says they're,going to sell the ring because it's,worth twenty dollars,but like to who does the website have a,buyback option are they gonna try and,sell it on like facebook marketplace or,ebay because i'm pretty sure,no one's gonna pay you 20 for that ring,anyways i clicked the link and the,website had a bunch of different scents,to choose from and you also,got to select your ring size which i,really appreciated it also noted,that the candles are made in the usa,from natural soy wax,and have between 80 and 100 hours of,burn time and pretty much all the,candles were listed for 24.95 which just,for comparison,most bath and body works three wig,candles are listed on the website at,24.50 and at least on the bottom of the,bath and body works candles that i have,because they don't list this on the,website,it says it has a burn time of 25 to 45,hours,so this candle seems like a pretty good,deal to me,so i got the eucalyptus one let's unbox,it give it a try and see if we're gonna,win,fifteen thousand dollars i haven't,filmed that part yet but spoiler alert i,i don't i don't think we're gonna win,fifteen thousand dollars,okay so it's the eucalypt descent renew,refresh relax,hand poured 100 soy candle that just,smells like straight up eucalyptus,it's not the best candle i've smelled by,any means it's not like,out of this world but it's not bad by,any means so this candle is obviously a,different,shape than the one in the tik tok ad,it's like much more,vertical it's a cylinder so hopefully,the,ring isn't like hidden at the very,bottom so i'm gonna start burning this,tonight and i'm actually gonna time it,every time i burn this candle,that way we can see what the burn time,really adds up to be,and i'm also excited to see what ring is,inside let's burn it,okay ignore my frickin olympic ring,of stickers my skincare headband but,i'm pretty sure i see the little,thing with the ring in it i've burned,the candle four times for a total of,about 14 hours,and 20 minutes and i'm just starting to,see a little,what i'm assuming is that wrapped foil,ring it looks like it did,in the the tick tock ad but i have to,say i think that 80 to 100 hours of burn,time,is pretty accurate i mean i've had this,going for,14 plus hours and we have really not,burned that much i'm,pretty impressed i really like the smell,of this candle i'll definitely,you know continue to burn it after i,take out the ring i will say,this candle isn't super like it's not,super strong smelling,i feel like usually with my other,candles if i light the candle it makes,the whole,room smell good this you kind of have to,be pretty close to it but when you are,close like sitting right here,it smells great it's just not as potent,i guess is the word,but here we go i got tweezers like they,did in the ad,oh yep i think that's definitely it oh,gosh i ripped open the foil,oh no man this find out,so a couple of weeks ago i shot a video,together with you guys,showing you exactly how i was setting up,our first ever tick-tock,ad campaign together remember that so,once we created that ad as well as the,creatives,when we ran the ad some of you asked so,what happened so this,is what happened okay today in this,video i'm going to walk you through an,exact apple to apple comparison meaning,we literally took the same ad put it on,tick tock and we took the same ad,and we put it on facebook by the end of,this video you will know,exactly what it is that you should be,doing and webinar or,presentation funnel,so what we did was we created,an exact ad campaign with the same ad,creatives same video one on facebook,okay and then the next thing that we did,was we ran the same thing with the same,video same write-up same,ad creative on tick-tock okay which is,basically,the thing that we did together if you've,watched that video where we were,creating that tick-tock,video together and this ad over here,sent people to this,funnel okay so let's take a look at some,numbers,now that we understand the big picture,of the sales process,so on the screen you will see that this,ad campaign this is literally a new ad,account right so i'm literally,discovering this together with you guys,so that you can learn through,my mistakes and you don't have to go,through the usual trial and error,and you can see that on this,five day window we have spent about 2,600 now this is in ringgit malaysia is,the ad account where we created so for,those of you outside of malaysia that's,about 800 us dollars converted no wait,that's about 650 700 right,so in this five day window i'm gonna,walk you through the pros and cons and,some of the things that i discovered,i'm doing this okay let's talk about,pros and cons first,advantage of doing and setting this up,is that you will see it's actually very,simple to use and it looks like,facebook right the entire setup,literally looks really,easily if you've ever utilized uh,facebook ads before that being said,you also see that the targeting is also,very similar facebook,it's just based on interest broad,look-alike and,ultimately if you take a look at this,number here which is the most,important number you can see it says cpa,now what is cpa it's basically your cost,per action,how much did it cost you to get a,specific action now this action could be,a sale it could be a lead it and in this,case here because of the,the funnel that i showed you this the,action was basically registering,for a a webinar okay so this is,basically about,eight dollars okay so heading back over,here,we can see that the action that we set,the conversion,for tick tock is approximately,eight dollars and by the way if you stay,till the
