unlike instagram i'm just,saying tick tock over and over you post,something and 80 000 people might say it,when you have four followers,they do this with a 4u page which is a,constant feed of videos,based on your individual interests and,the algorithm gets smarter and smarter,as you watch more tick tocks and today,i'm going to challenge myself to build,it,but before we do how does tick tock,actually work,well if we break it down it's actually,not too complicated we have the client,which is the app which needs to read and,write videos to the server,and a cdn like vastly for loading videos,from cache,avoiding requests to the server when,possible now this is obviously,simplified but at a high level this is,basically it,the second part of the problem is,presenting the videos to the user,you need to be efficiently pre-loading,the videos as the user scrolls,that way the experience is seamless,giving an impression of an,endless feed of videos but now that's,just half of the equation,the other part is the recommendation,engine that ticktock built,which has too many variables and would,take way too much time,to build out in this video but if that's,something you're from the get-go and that had,them kind of transform into something,else day in the life of a twitch,streamer first I made my bed and took a,shower brushed my teeth then made a,smoothie this one was banana with,pineapple and some mango juice then I,started editing some videos but decided,to hang out with my friends so I picked,him up and went to get some food went by,Culver's to get a burger and stop by,Wawa to get a drink stop by Walmart and,then also the movies where we watched,nope and it was a pretty good movie then,I hung out my friend's place and made,some more Burgers but it was
