what's going on guys team ruff here back,with another video in this video we are,going to create tick tock ads,look-alikes plus i'm going to show you,my full strategy when i'm launching and,when i'm testing these look-alike,audiences using tick-tock ads and inside,the tick tock ads manager welcome if,you're new make sure to hit that like,button subscribe to the channel to get,more tick tock ads let's not mess around at all and,just show you right away how to create,these tick tock ads lookalikes straight,off the bat so we're gonna hop in my,screen here you see we have our tick,tock ads manager and this is the,dashboard right this is where you should,be if you're following along with this,video or if you're taking notes so we're,going to be on the dashboard here and,we're going to go ahead and click on,assets inside your tick tock ads manager,scroll down to audiences go ahead you're,going to click on audiences and it,should load up for us to the audience,section of the ads manager so once,you're in here there pretty much should,be nothing available yet but what we,want to do is we want to create an,audience so the first audience that we,can create,when we're you know making these look,like audiences is the first thing we,need to do is create a custom audience,before we create a look-alike audience,why because the look-alike audience is,is based off the custom audience's data,and to create these custom audiences and,have them populate you need at least a,thousand events per,um per page event right so if you need a,thousand added cards to build an add to,cart custom audience you need a thousand,purchases to create a purchase,custom audience and it goes,you know throughout the funnel like that,and the easiest one of course to do is,video views or page views right away so,i'm going to go ahead and click on,actually before we even go into this,right there's different options you can,do there's a customer file that you can,upload which we can click on and i found,this very actually confusing compared to,other platforms like facebook or,instagram where you could just upload,your email list or any other customer,files but right now,it seems that this type of,format is extremely difficult to acquire,or even to format i've tried tons of,times but i have no luck with,uploading any audiences to tic doc,if you you know if you have an option or,know about that drop it in the comments,below and see how you know others can,help from that information but that's,anyway that's one part of it but the,next part is engagement and website,traffic so engagement it's going to be,people right who've clicked your ad,who've watched your ad who've viewed,your ad,in the past seven days we can pick 14,days 30 days all the way to 180 days,the next feature that they have when,creating these custom audiences is,website traffic so website traffic right,page view,user registration product details page,view add to cart place an order complete,payment it's the same thing past seven,days 14 days we go all the way to 180,days,and basically that's,most of as well and they have a couple,lead gen options you can do but right to,create your very first custom audience,we are going to do engagement because,that's the easiest one,because a lot of your events are,probably already populated with that so,the first thing we want to do is mainly,when i make these custom audiences to,look like,lookalikes i'll do,the past 30 days so for this case we'll,have clique in the past 30 days,and you can choose your ad groups,like specifically you can make,lookalikes or custom audiences based off,of unique ad groups but mainly if i'm,running the same product,i'm going to be doing all the ad groups,if you're split testing on like a,general store we have a bunch of,products make sure to weed out those ad,groups so it's by product otherwise,you're completely fine if you're running,your brand just do all ad groups,so you can you're going to go ahead here,and i usually just call this,click,30 days i'll name it like that,and then make sure you have auto refresh,on that's going to be key so make sure,this is good and we can go ahead and,confirm the past 30 days click,and it's going to load up here for us,it probably won't populate right right,away it's going to take a bit so as you,can see it's processing the data,but let's see if he even lets us create,a lookalike based off this so,not yet we're not able to create a look,like just yet until it populates some,other audiences as this populates is,we're going to go ahead and click on,engagement as well,and i really like this audience of video,view a hundred percent,uh video views that's a pretty high uh,you know person that really that is,engaged in our ads and they're probably,looking to buy the product a bit more so,this data is n

for your brand this video is perfect for beginners ,we're not going to skip any steps but i'm also
going to go into some advanced things around ,content because that is so important to make sure
that you make tick tock ads work the first step ,you're going to want to do is set up your shopify
store if you haven't set up your shopify store ,just pause the video click the link in my bio and
set it up now we've got one set up through our ,lemon scrub series so it's got most of the things
ready we're just going to make sure that we set up ,tiktok properly so the pixel is firing once you're
in shopify the best way to go is go into apps and ,just write in tiktok simply download the official
tiktok app and click add sales channel this is the ,exact same as facebook nowadays this will bring
up this little tick tock section down on the left ,hand store of your shopify store if you don't have
shopify still carry on watching we're going to get ,into the nitty gritty in a second once this is set
up we can click this section here setting up the ,pixel the next step you can see that it's saying
connect tick tock for business this is where you ,need a new tick tock account already have a tick
tock business account you can just click connect ,but today we're gonna have to create a brand new
one so i'm just gonna click create new at the top ,enter my email address get the verification code
sent into the verification code here agree to ,terms and conditions and just click sign up you
can click connect down the bottom right and that's ,now created an ads manager business manager under
that email we can click create new ad account and ,we can select the country and the currency that we
want to be built in this is generally the region ,that you want to be targeting change the business
name to something a little bit simpler click sign ,up and connect you'll come to this data sharing
section which we've touched on a few times in my ,previous episodes just click enhanced or maximum
providing you've got the terms and conditions set ,up for something and then click confirm maximum
is obviously preferred this is how shopify shares ,data with ticktock this is referred to as capi
which is a partnership between shopify and the ,advertising platform click set up enter your final
details make sure you connect automatic payment ,click confirm and you should be ready to go now
to create tick-tock ads we're actually going to ,have to go back to the tick-tock ads manager so
we can go ads.tichtalk.com you can see that our ,ad account has already been created to make sure
that we do have the pixel set up properly what i ,do recommend is going to your website and just
like facebook there's something called tic toc ,pixel helper and it's a chrome extension that you
can download and check if your pixel is firing ,on your website if it's not you may need to go
and fix that initially just download the chrome ,extension and you can see that our tick tock pixel
is set up here shopify set it up for us and it ,should be firing this is a page view because we're
on a page when you add a product to cart it should ,fire the add to cart pixel or if someone purchases
you can test a purchase and it will also fire that ,pixel in the exact right way so now we're in
the tiktok ads account we can go ahead and ,create our first campaign campaign structures
are really important to talk about it's what ,separates good advertisers from bad advertisers
that alongside really effective marketing content ,the basic structure is you have a campaign which
is what objective you are striving for if you've ,got something like a real estate business
it might be leads you're trying to collect ,leads but we've got a e-commerce business
so we want to get purchases then you've ,got the ad set level which is basically the
targeting that you're setting up to complete ,that campaign objective then finally you've got
your ads that live within each of those ad sets ,these ads are different creative types that

events,this is basically you know where we,actually see how many events your,shopify your ticket pixel has actually,recorded onto your shopify store so,so go on to website pixel and manage,so as you can see over the last six days,my pixel has received 2710 events you,can actually click on the pixel to you,know you know bring out all the events,you have received so as you can see we,have gotten,17 complete payments we've gotten you,know,we've got an 855 view contents we've got,you know 136 add to cards and over 1000,page views so guys as a rule of thumb i,would recommend you guys to have at,least 100 complete payments have at,least 3 000 you know view content at,least 300 add to cards and at least 5,000 page views to actually start running,these like campaigns the reason behind,that is because you need to have your,pixel warmed up and it needs to have,enough data and information to create,those look like audiences off you can,try running on low events only problem,would that be your local like audiences,might not be the effective and those,powerful so i would tell you guys to,actually spend some money on cold,targeting get your events up get your,pixel warmed up and then YouTube, and Snapchat,to see if their ad
algorithms and analytics,could match me to things I might like.,And a few months ago,,I finally relented and downloaded TikTok,,and lo and behold, there were
ads and abs, but mostly ads.,Now in general, TikTok has
actually become an environment,where companies and people interact a lot,,so I think a lot of businesses see TikTok,as a good marketing opportunity.,- Thank you Little Caesars,for the life size plush replica of me!,- And in terms
of the ads I've seen,,there's quite a wide variety.,(dramatic music),- I have been dreaming of
marriage with a rich girl.,- I've gotten ads for parks,,ads for like fake veneers and
ads for working for TikTok.,Some are for super small Etsy shops.,Some are for larger corporations.,Some play into TikTok trends,,or try to mimic the normal videos,you might see on your for you page,,and some are incredibly
low effort and confusing.,Like, what is this product,
and why is it so pixelated?,And I also know that other
people notice these ads as well,and can relate to getting blasted,by the same one for weeks on end.,- This is a plea to the
marketing people at HALARA.,Please, stop targeting me to
buy your mini tennis dress.,- Every time they open the app.,- Wow, I sure love my HALARA dress.,(sobs) It's, it's really cute!,- But TikTok does have a
very targeted algorithm.,I should know. I've been on
Edgar Allen Poe Tok before,,so maybe they do know best,,and maybe I will like
the things they show me.,So that's what we're gonna
do, buy the first five things,that TikTok ads recommend

quick disclaimers here.,One is that I'm gonna be
pretty much just ignoring,the first ad that comes up
right when you open the app,,because I usually find that
those are for movies, TV shows,or big companies like Credit Karma,,and I'm more interested in
their normal ad inventory,rather than the big banner ones,,which feel less targeted overall.,The other disclaimer is that
rather than just sitting,in one spot and just scrolling,until I get to all of the ads,,I'm gonna open the app up multiple times,throughout the day and
get my five ads that way,,just because that more closely replicates,the way I use TikTok on the daily,,compulsively opening the app,,scrolling through a few videos,,feeling guilty about wasting
time and then closing the app.,Alright, and with that,
let's ruin my algorithm.,Alright, so I've been scrolling,,and TikTok gave me a pretty good ad here.,This is an ad for Pizza
Hut's new limited edition,,streetwear line, Tastewear.,- They don't just sell pizza
anymore. They make streetwear.,And it's called Tastewear,
so let's get into it.,- Yes, that's right, Pizza
Hut made a track suit,,and they're advertising it to
me, which is weirdly targeted.,I am not necessarily the
world's biggest Pizza Hut fan,,but I am a huge fan of companies,doing weird PR things, including clothing.,KFC Crocs, sign me up.
Peeps Crocs, I'm there.,Pizza Hut parka, I mean, I have that.,I don't actually follow a
lot of brands on TikTok,,but I have posted a fair amount of videos,with weird clothing, including
the aforementioned Crocs,,so maybe that's what tipped them off.,So I am gonna get all of this
stuff, or as much as I can.,They have a jumpsuit that's inspired,by the plaid tablecloths
at Pizza Hut restaurants.,Then I'm gonna get their
T-shirt that is inspired,by their stained glass chandeliers,,and I'm also gonna get the slides.,They do also have a necklace,
which I'm gonna grab.,The pizza chain, oh I just
got that...pizza chain.,It's a pizza chain about the pizza chain,,Pizza Hut, pizza chain.,Two notes here, one is
that the iconic red cup,was sadly already sold out,,and also that this is not that cheap,,specifically, the track
suit is kind of expensive,,which I wouldn't really
