how d you sign up for shopify academy?

good morning good evening wherever you,are or whenever you're watching this,welcome back to my channel,um I know I did a post last weekend and,it's because I got really sick and I,really couldn't film I had like a really,really horrible cold but so yeah I'm 90,better I want to say 95 percent better,um yeah so,kudos to me but,on to the video today I have like a very,exciting video to talk about and very,serious videos to talk about I know for,the past few weeks even months I've been,talking about how I want to leave Etsy,and I want to build my own website and I,even thought I even told you guys that,old school's building my website at the,moment I was hoping that the process,will be faster but turns out it's,actually not that easy because there's a,lot of things that he has to learn,because I want a lot of features on my,webpage and I also don't want to rush,him to be honest because I feel like,slow and steady is the best way to go,especially if you want to build,something that's gonna that you want to,last long,term if that makes sense so with that,being said my website building is a work,in progress but while this is while he's,doing all of that I decided to build a,shop on Shopify and yeah you heard me,right I want to build a shop from,Shopify because I wanted to I still want,to leave Etsy I don't want to be on Etsy,anymore I want to like go on a platform,that'll be better for my business and,yeah,and building a website on Shopify it's,not the easiest thing but at the same,time it's not the hardest thing I just,didn't think that it would be that hard,if that makes sense,um because on Etsy the all you need is,like pictures of your listing,description of your business and,description of your product and boom,you're good but for Shopify you have to,show actually I do love the flexibility,let me start there but,um you have to like build a layout like,insert Pictures logo and like a bunch of,like things like technically create a,brand for yourself and then,um which by the way I love,um but I didn't think it was gonna take,me that long because I thought that I,could like knock it down in like a day,or maybe like a weekend and then last,week not even last weekend like,technically last week I started like,thinking about it I started like looking,around like poking here and there on,Shopify to see like what things that I,need to actually build like what kind of,content or asset that I need for like my,web page and I noticed that I don't have,anything and I also don't have the,skills and yeah so it was like a eagle,kill if that makes sense,um but here we are,um so I decided to take a step back,and really analyze uh what I want from,Shopify so technically I want a website,that's that I want like a whole brand,right,um and building a brand is not the,easiest because you need a logo you need,like color color theme that represent,your brand and you need like a specific,font and so on and since I did a lot of,things that I actually don't know how to,build so I have to gain the skills to do,it so I decided to create a new plan for,myself and I know when you go on uh,YouTube when you type Shopify all you,see is Drop Shipping this print on,demand this and blah blah blah blah blah,um but no one really teach you how to,like navigate their platform to like,really build a brand for yourself or,really build a website they kind of just,like give you General ideas and like oh,yeah Shopify gave you like theme,uh like templates that you can use all,you have to do is swap the pictures but,like the templates they are cute but,they don't really fit my brand right so,technically although I can pick any,templates because they have a few,templates that are free and also I,didn't know you had to pay for templates,to be honest because like other,templates on Shopify like 300 400 and so,on,um even those are not that cute but yeah,so I decided to just kind of build my,own like layout for myself and yeah it's,a work in progress so I have to like,take it a day at a time instead of like,rushing to do everything in one weekend,so boom boom,um yeah so I took the liberty of writing,down the steps that I need to do in,order to actually create my brand create,my website and have like a successful,lunch or like a nice looking webpage for,my business and the first thing I wanted,to say is I want to take a few steps,back and instead of building a brand for,artsy Baraka which is what I've been,like talking in the past few weeks or,even months I'm gonna build a completely,entirely different brand a technique so,basically what I plan on doing is,building my website on Shopify one step,at a time instead of trying to rush to,get everything done in one weekend one,week one month and so on um if it's,gonna take me two months to get it done,it will take me two months I'm not gonna,Rush myself but a cool exciting thing,that I want to implement is actually,document the entire process all the,frustration all the parts that have been,stuck that I'm gonna be stuck on because,I'm I'm 100 sure that I'm gonna be stuck,somewhere,um but yeah so I want to literally,document the entire process so hopefully,my process or the way I end up,completing this project can actually,help someone up there,um so basically I'm gonna lay out the,plan for,this webpage I know I had to put a lot,of a lot more thought into that,um such as what type of items that I,plan on selling on on my store and so on,but I know the industry will most likely,be art and Home Decor or home in general,um so that's that so I I need to like,think this through but another first,thing I need to do is,um find a supplier because if I plan on,doing like home decor type of items it,almost I will need to find Like A,supplier and I want to double my feet,into Drop Shipping because I've been,like watching a bunch of videos about it,and yeah and I'll be documenting my,process is Drop Shipping is then,I'll be letting you guys know,um so that's that finding the supplier,that can drop ship my items boom and,also print on demand because I plan on,implementing my art and my drawing so,people can buy like let's say wall frame,and it can be printed and shipped,directly to the person instead of just,selling digital downloads,um so that's that build a Shopify store,into the build Shopify store I have logo,color theme,typography which is like the type of,font that I would like my brand to have,which is technically branding of my,entire uh business and I wanted to have,like a sample and fun and bright look to,it,um but that should be a very fun step a,very fun mini project such as like uh,creating my logo like having like a,color theme that I would like stick to,and so on so that that I'm very excited,about and also scared because it's like,a lot you know a lot of pressure,um a Website Layout like I mentioned,before I know that Shopify has a bunch,of like templates but none of the,templates that they had spoke to me you,know like none of them like just like,took me by surprise and be like oh this,is the one you know so I want to like,build my own and so technically the,Website Layout is gonna be what I need,to,build is like the homepage layout,product page layout collection layout,um and I also want to implement a Blog,section so a blog post layout and a Blog,collection layout,um I know that was very detailed but,just so you guys know like what I plan,on doing and then another thing is,company description product description,and then mission statement values and so,on so those are all like the contents,that I plan on adding on the web page so,it can I think all of this kind of fall,under branding branding in a way and,yeah so those are all the things that I,need to be working on so technically,that's the plan for like the business in,a way,and,um,so once I have all those ready then I'm,gonna like put the webpage together by,taking pictures of the product taking,pictures of like,um random like filler pictures if that,makes sense you know like not only the,products but like,regular things to kind of make the,picture to kind of make the website look,nice and then once I have my web page up,and running I'm gonna run ads and also,create social media uh Pages for,for the website and the content that I,have on the website like in the products,that I have on the website,um so that's the plan that I have so far,so technically every week I will kind of,document and summarize what I've,completed and how far along I am through,you know building my web page on,um Shopify I know it's a fun and,exciting project but at the same time,too I know that I'm gonna feel very,overwhelmed but,I know that I'm gonna learn a lot and,yeah I'm very excited and I know I'm,gonna be stuck in a few things and some,things might take me longer than it,should but some will just,go as like quick you know,um so yeah so I want to embrace this new,journey and document every little,details that I can and all the,frustration all the excitement all the,the accomplishment and so on I'm just,gonna package it and bundle it and shove,it down your throat I'm kidding,um yeah so that's about it and that's,the new project that's the new thing,that I'm gonna be working on and I'll be,honest I've been watching about your,videos on Drop Shipping some people have,like major success with it and others,have like,horror stories and I hope that I can,learn from their horror stories and also,learn from the major success so maybe I,can be in between maybe leaning more,towards the major success stories and,yeah so that's not new projects and,that's the new project documentation,that I'm gonna be posting going forward,and I hope you guys find this,find this project and also
