hey guys it's elliot bell here i'm a,email marketing strategist and today i'm,going to take you through,how to update and customize your,shopify's order confirmation,email so if you go to your shopify store,and go down to settings notifications,this is where you'll see all the,different email templates that get,triggered on different events,you go into order confirmation,here you'll see all the html code this,is the generic,order confirmation email that shopify,sends,and you can preview that by clicking,this preview button and it will generate,a preview,as you can see it's a pretty generic,email,most shopify stores still run this,template,it's pretty easy to see which stores,you're purchasing from,are on shopify because you usually get,this template email,when you place an order however there is,a few couple of easy steps that you can,do,to update this email template and make,it a bit more on,you know a bit more branding for your,shopify store,so if you go back there's in this,customize button,so in this customize button you can,update your logo and,also update your brand colors so if we,choose,your logo this is my logo,you can also set the width for this logo,i'm going to set it to 140,and i don't want the shopify blue i want,my branding orange,click save,back and then if you go back to your,order confirmation email,and preview you'll see that now,it's got instead of just your store name,it's your logo,and also your branding colors,this still looks somewhat generic and so,what i've done is i've gone one step,further and i have created,a email template um so i've developed an,email template that just has a bit nicer,look and feel to it,um which is also available for free i'll,post a link in the description below,but if you copy this html,go back to your shopify store,you delete the current code that shopify,has in there,and paste in the updated html,and don't worry you can always revert,back to your default settings,go back up preview,and there we go you can see it's got all,the important information that your,customers need,and it just looks a bit nicer with this,header and this,uh your receipt and the customer's order,number there,we go back click save,back into preview you can also send a,test email so this will send through an,email to,the email address that is linked to your,shopify store,and if you notice something's not right,or you're not happy with it,like i said you can go down the bottom,click revert to default,confirm,back up the top and you're back to the,original,generic shopify template cool,hope you guys got some value out of this,thanks
