shopify why dont collections show in search

hi my name is grant from v6 we build and,grow online shops and our shopify,partner,i wanted to show you over very quickly,over a new feature that's in shopify um,so for example on our demo store here,if we go into the clothing section you,can see we have some tops available and,these are,just products without with a standard,variant of one size so in this shop you,can see all the sizes,from the collection view,but this works across different products,with different uh variants but,we're using small medium large and extra,large as our variants and these are four,tops each one has got one variant with,one size,um now obviously the demo stores only,got a couple of products in here but you,can,refine,and filter by different,values,but often you want to add in an,additional value and that normally,requires some intervention either via an,app,or editing the theme files and there's a,new feature,in shopify so if we go into,the online store in the back end,and then go into navigation,and you'll find a section now called,collection and search filters,and this allows us to add in uh,additional,filters that appear on the top here,and it's based upon the values of the,products that are appearing in the,collection,so for example if i uh,if i go into the back end in here and,click add filter,we see the availability price type and,vendor are already selected and they're,already showing,but i can also add in another one so,that in jersey side size and that is the,label the name of the variant,so jersey size,add that one and then save that,if we then go back to the front end of,the site,and click into clothing,uh we'll now see,straight away,it's unsaved,bit of a lag on that to appear,you now see jersey size appearing in,here,so now if i drop the box down and chose,small,it would actually update and just show,me the one small product that's,available,if i chose small and medium it would,show me the small and the medium,so this allows us to now shop,on screen,by any of the variants so it could be,color size obviously we have brand price,and availability in there,but it's a really powerful feature and,it's one that's really easy to actually,manage,and set up from within the shopify admin,so once again in the back end online,store navigation,under the collection filters you'll see,these options,now you'll only see ones that are,actually valid so for example in here we,have bearings which is a value for the,wheels,so we're going to the wheels section,you'll see that bearings is available,but you'll see that jersey size does not,appear that's because there's no,products in this collection with jersey,size as a variable,um or variant sorry,um,so yeah there we go hope that helps and,any questions please let us know
